Mr. M. O. Ibrahim has more than 30 years’ experience in Strategic Management and International Marketing (Trade and Brand) with specialized experience in export administration and facilitation, research, statistics and planning, corporate communication development and execution, export advisory services, cross-functional team management and business plan development.
M.O. Ibrahim served in various capacities at the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) for over 25 years. At different periods, he had worked in the Trade Information Services; Market Development Special Services and Export Incentives Departments respectively. He served as the Director Product Development until September 2016, after which he retired into private Consulting.
He had led various teams that represented Nigeria in International fora. He has extensive experience in planning, coordinating and executing group country participation in international trade fairs/exhibitions as well as preparing enterprises (supplier preparations) for effective participation in the promotional events. He led the Nigerian Delegation to the Trade and Exhibition Forum jointly organized by AFREXIM Bank and China EXIM Bank in Beijing China between July 12 – 14, 2012, where Nigeria won an Award as the BEST EXHIBITOR.
He has also been engaged in managing donor funded projects working with the teams from the WTO/ITC and USAID NEEP and NEXTT projects to deliver program outcomes for export diversification.
While in service, Mr. M. O. distinguished himself as an officer of the Council. With his efforts, the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) Scheme which was hitherto chaotic was sanitized between 2005 – 2010.
He holds an MSC in Economics from the University of Lagos and a BSC in Economics from the University of Benin with a Second class Upper degree. He is passionate about export consulting, his area of specialization is mainly in Product Development, Trade Facilitation, and capacity building, Export trade promotion and market linkages strategies.
